New England Telemark (NET) is a non profit organization dedicated to the teaching of the telemark turn. We are the only PSIA certified 'telemark only' ski school in the US. Originating in Maine in the early 90's NET now includes over thirty instructors that come together to teach at our telemark festivals and clinics around New England. Most of NET's instructors are PSIA certified (Professional Ski Instructors Of America) and all are highly trained and motivated. NET's Directors are Biff Higgison and Matt DiBenedetto. Director's assistant is Robin Roaf. Technical Advisors are John Tidd, Paul Smith, Jim Tasse and Mickey Stone, PSIA Examiners. Our educational staff also includes level 111 skiers and instructors Ginny Prince, Jeff Lea, Biff Higgison and Paul Robert. Our goal is to grow the sport of telemark skiing, to educate the public in the joys and benifits of telemark and backcountry skiing and to expose the telemark skier to all the related products available.
The next big event is the Maine Telemark Festival at Sunday River on February 6.
