January 9, 2010
Wildcat, NH
Here are some pictures from the fest.
No pre-registration needed! Buy your special festival lift ticket and register for clinics the morning of the fest. Look for festival headquarters upstairs in the main lodge.
Tickets - TBA Same price as regular weekend ticket but includes all demos, lessons and events. (Folks with season passes or special tickets pay $25 but get a free raffle and beer ticket)
Demos- Most of the telemark companies will be represented and you will have a chance to demo the newest gear for free! The reps want to give everyone a chance to use the gear so if you need gear for the whole day rentals will be available at the Wildcat rental shop. Here is a great chance to try all of the new gear.
• Sponsors - At the heart of every great organization there must be a dedicated group of people. Along with our instructors and volunteers are our sponsors. Where would we be without them? They help us out financially but more than that, many of them are right there at the festivals with us, giving the public a chance to try out all the newest and best telemark gear. To them we have dedicated a 'sponsor page' with descriptions of their products and links to their web pages. All our thanks to Garmont, Backcountry Mag, Telemarkskier mag, Black Diamond, Garmont, Flylow, Trab, TwentyTwo Design and Voile for their support.
Lessons* - We are the only PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) certified 'telemark only' ski school. Most of our instructors are members of PSIA and all are highly trained and motivated. We want our clinics to be fun most of all but to hopefully give you a chance to improve your skiing in an enjoyable, free spirited atmosphere. All clinics are 1 1/2 hours long and are free! Clinics times are 10:00 and 1:00. A limited number of hour long($50) or half day($140) private lessons are available as well.
We will have clinics for all abilities, from never-evers to expert. Some of our special clinics will include;
Never-ever clinics for those that have never skied before.
KIDS clinics for the young. We have the gear and the instructor, Grant Braddish. Grant is a dad and has been teaching K-6 graders to ski with the Junior Instructional Ski Program in VT since the 01-02 ski season.
Crossover clinics for alpine skiers coming to Telemark.
Master Clinics. Taught by our Educational Staff members, these are clinics for the expert.
Detect and Correct. A quick firing clinic meant to help you with immediate noticable problems.
Women's Clinics. Women teaching women. Some of NET's top women instructors will be leading clinics both days.
Mogul Clinics. Our best bumpers show you how it's done. Mogul conditions pending.
Private Lessons. If you really don't want the free group lesson we will have private lessons available at $50 an hour. Also half day private lessons for $140. Please note, this is a courtesy for our festival participants. The Wildcat ski school has some fantastic telemark instructors and private lessons are available all winter long at Wildcat.
*Not all clinics may be available at any one time. Clinics depend upon amount of students and instructor availability.
Party- Saturday, 4:00. Awards. Raffles. Beer.
Rentals- Demo gear of course is free to use at the festival but if you really need some gear for the entire day you will want to rent.(Demo gear is only to be used for a few runs at a time). Wildcat does rent telemark gear.
The New England Telemark Festival is brought to you by all of our sponsors, NET and Wildcat.

NET and the New Hampshire Telemark Festival are proud to have Shipyard Brewing Company on board as a sponsor!
I just wanted to say it was awesome to meet all of you this past weekend at the NH fest. I was up there with FNX and had the opportunity to slap on some tele gear and give it a try in a clinic...and I have to say I am hooked and haven't been on ski's in a decade (snowboarded)!! Let me know if and when you guys are selling off your demo gear at the end of the season...you have a former snowboarder on the market for some tele gear!
Thanks so much!!

Hi Robin!
Thanks again for the lesson. We really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. You are truly an amazing instructor ... to be able to somehow turn my fearful snowplows into step turns and tele turns was an excellent thing to learn (and helps me get my weight off my uphill ski which I am so fond of hanging on).
We actually both had our places of work close today - we have to make up the time by working 12 hour days (who cares when you can ski in fresh snow!) - but we got to play at Pat's Peak today which was such a treat....and very different from Wildcat. I actually went down a blue - a Pat's blue but I worked my way down - not all tele but I was able to turn/stop/turn/stop and then turn/turn/turn a few times!! Dave too was having a great time working on nice turns. Thanks to you :)
